Tea in the United States covers everything from a traditional Chinese or Japanese tea house to a Southern sweet-tea counter, and the fastest-growing segment is bubble tea: Taiwanese-style milk teas and fruit teas with tapioca pearls, sold by chains and independents alike with adjustable sugar and ice levels. Tea rooms serving afternoon tea with scones and sandwiches usually require a reservation, while boba shops, juice bars and smoothie shops are walk-in and quick. Kava and kombucha bars are a newer category, and loose-leaf tea stores sell blends, teaware and gifts, often with a tasting counter. Prices for a drink run similar to coffee-shop prices, with premium teas and cold-pressed juices at the high end.

Stopped by Price Tea House for dessert and was pleasantly surprised! The drinks were refreshing, the crepe cake was light and delicious with just the right touch of sweetness, and the panna cotta with fruit and sorbet was a perfect balance of creamy and fruity. Everything tasted great and was actually cheaper than I expected, which made it an even better experience. The only downside was the service—it was a bit slow, and the server didn’t seem too enthusiastic. Still, the quality of the desserts makes this spot worth visiting again. Definitely a nice place to satisfy a sweet tooth in New Dorp!

Prince Tea House has a beautiful and cozy atmosphere, and I really enjoyed their rose tea it was light, and fragrant. I was very interested in trying their desserts, but sadly they are not halal suitable, which limits options for people like me. I ordered the fruit toast without whip cream (since the whip cream contains gelatin). It was still tasty, but it would have been much better with a halal friendly topping option. I also tried the fries, but later found out they are fried in meat oil, which was disappointing. Overall, it’s a lovely place for tea, but I really hope they can consider adding more halal friendly choices in the future. That would make it a perfect spot for everyone to enjoy.

Prince Tea House in New Dorp has quickly become one of my favorite go-to spots on Staten Island. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is warm, charming, and beautifully designed—perfect for everything from a cute date night to catching up with friends or even enjoying a solo tea session. The decor feels upscale yet inviting, with elegant touches that make you feel like you’re in a little slice of a Parisian café. The tea selection is incredible, offering a wide variety of traditional and modern flavors, from floral to fruity, herbal to creamy milk teas. Each cup is brewed and presented with such care—you can tell they take pride in the experience they provide. The desserts are just as amazing. Every slice of cake, tart, and pastry not only looks Instagram-worthy but actually tastes rich, fresh, and balanced. My personal favorites are their mille crêpes and lava cakes, which are both indulgent without being overly sweet. What really makes Prince Tea House stand out is the service. The staff is consistently polite, knowledgeable, and attentive. They take time to explain the menu if you have questions and check in just the right amount without hovering. I also love how clean an

ETA: Just came by again for the afternoon tea for two - it was excellent! Strongly advise that everyone try this. The service was also stellar. So excited to come back again. Once again, though, screaming children brought the experience down a notch. Moms, please, if you absolutely have to take your kids here, for pity’s sake, bring them outside when they throw a tantrum! Lovely tea house! Really lovely decor, a wide variety of teas, and everything is presented really beautifully. Although the food (turkey sandwich for me) tasted nice, it was incredibly overpriced for what it was: a sandwich. I could understand if maybe the quality was outstanding, but it wasn’t. It seemed to be Oscar Mayer turkey slices. Dessert, on the other hand, was much better: choux pastry with ice cream. Excellent quality and gorgeous presentation. The only other gripe, and this is no fault of the establishment’s, was that there were screaming children from start to finish. Maybe, if you can’t parent properly, don’t bring your shrieking children to a tea house whose atmosphere is meant to be chill and relaxing. Will come back again for afternoon tea, but skipping the $10 tiny sandwich.

Service was exceptional! They have a wide array of tea and desserts that you can pick from. The food portions are a little small, but it tastes good. I highly recommend their squid tail. This is a cute spot to hangout!
